A complete garden overhaul was needed to restore this Art Deco styled home and garden back to its former glory. After a site survey and design consultation with the client, it was decided that we would maximise and increase the usable space directly through the rear patio doors. This space would be used for dining and entertaining. Also included in the design was an artificial lawn upper level and natural stone exploded circular patio along with new natural stone surfaces throughout the entire garden.
To bring this design to life we excavated over 50 tons of soil and installed a 2 metre high retaining stone wall, which was fronted with an ornamental herb bed and seating area. New pathways were installed along the side of the property, and large patio to the rear, all using natural sandstone slabs.
A new extra wide set of steps was added to navigate to the upper level, which we constructed using stone risers and sandstone treads. On the upper level we laid an exploded circular style patio using the original blue pennant slabs that were already on site. This patio area was then flanked with a low maintenance, high quality, artificial lawn. Once all the hard landscaping had been completed we created a planting scheme to provide a sympathetic, soft feel to the hard surfaces installed.
