Gardens in the sky!

Although Great Britain is estimated to be only 234,411 square kilometres in size it has 66 official cities! It goes without saying that where there are cities you'll find lots of buildings.

  In the past, expanding cities have often eaten into surrounding green areas and left little to no gardens for us to enjoy, this meant that people wanting a more "green" existence were forced to move out of the cities, however we feel you should have the best of both worlds.

It has only been in the last few years that people have begun to take the initiative to utilise elevated spaces within the city. We think there is enough room for everyone to have there own little space to relax or even produce food.

Our main aim as landscape designers is to bring gardens to people for them to enjoy, this idea used to exclude people with a limited outdoor space, well not any more. We have already completed 2 Green roof projects within the domestic market and plan to design and build many more.

As urban areas continue to sharpen their focus on sustainable and local production, it's not hard to imagine food retailers large and small setting up rooftop farms of their own, buoyed also by consumers' love for a good still-made-here story.

Dubbed Food from the Sky, the rooftop garden project is a collaboration between Thornton’s Budgens, The Positive Earth Project and the local community.
